Corridor Plan for declining commercial corridor that is a southern gateway into this capital city. The plan addresses land use, transportation, signage, streetscape and business development for this 1.5 mile long roadway, which has 122 driveways.
Development opportunity sites were identified to introduce new uses to the Boulevard as well as a business park and senior care/housing campus at its I-72 interchange. The plan envisions major changes to its auto-dominated setting including: consolidated driveways; redesigned and linked parking lots; renovated buildings; and 25-foot parkway setbacks.
