Mississippi River – Quad Cities, Illinois/Iowa | Land Use Plan & Design Principles

Land Use Plan, Design Principles and Signage Design for 26-mile Mississippi River corridor. Process involved River Action Group, Quad Cities Arts Council, Bi-State Regional Commission and 18 towns/cities, two counties and two states. The plan establishes the river as a unifying element based on its environmental, historical and industrial context.

The principles address access, landscaping, wayfinding, open space, public art and lighting. The signage system includes directional signs, Riverway gateways, kiosks and history/ecology markers.
